Mission
The mission of the NRC is to develop fundamental and applied research by accumulating, summarizing and disseminating new knowledge in the field of natural sciences, which is necessary for ensuring the knowledge and protection of ecosystems and sustainable use of resources to meet the needs of society.
Activity objectives
- To carry out long-term research and experimental (social, cultural) development in ecology, botany, mycology, microbiology, virology, zoology, parasitology and geosciences relevant for the continuity and development of the country’s economy, culture, health care and society.
- To cooperate with representatives of business, government and society, to carry out contracted research and experimental (social, cultural) development, and to provide methodological support related to the creation and use of methods and other assistance.
- To raise public awareness of scientific knowledge, to use it in culture, education, health care, as well as social and economic activities, to contribute to the creation of economy based on innovation and knowledge and to the development of knowledge-intensive society.
