About Us

ANR (French National Research Agency) is a public administrative body located at 86, rue Regnault, 75013 Paris, France. It is in charge of the communication and dissemination activities within the projects of the Water4All Partnership. In this capacity, ANR is the controller for the processing of personal data referred to in this document.

The Water4All data privacy policy complies with the General Data Protection Regulation 2016/679 (GDPR). Below you will find information on how the Water4All uses information.
 
The protection of your personal data is an important matter for the Water4All. Therefore, we have taken technical and organisational measures to ensure that data protection regulations are observed both by us and by external service providers.
 
On the Water4All website, personal data is collected and stored only to the extent that it is technically necessary and only if you are a member of the Water4All boards, subscribe to a newsletter mailing list, register for an event, submit partner searches, events or news or participate or are involved in a research and innovation funded project.  

Your personal data will only be publicly available/visible if you have previously agreed to this.

What information do we gather from you?

You may be asked to provide the following categories of data:

We may also ask for additional information including the nature of any enquiries or complaints you may make. We endeavour to only collect relevant data.

How will we use the information we gather?

Data for newsletter distribution

If you subscribe to the newsletter mailing list of the Water4All we will store your email address on a cloud environment. Data records are used to analyse system performance for statistical purposes. To provide you with the latest news via our newsletter we may have to share your data with our partners from the Water4All. We will not forward your data to any other third parties. You can cancel your subscription to the newsletter at any time by emailing us at: water4allcommunication@agencerecherche.fr or by clicking on the unsubscribe button of any newsletter.

Data for event registration

If you submit personal data to us via a website to register for an event this data will be treated as confidential and will only be shared with our partners involved in the organisation and for the sole purpose of the specific event, you registered for.

Data for News & Event submission forms

If you submit your personal data via our newsletter subscription form/event submission forms, this information will be treated as confidential and will only be shared within Water4All.

Queries to Water4All

When you send us personal data in this context it will be used solely for correspondence purposes. You consent to forward your personal data to Water4All to facilitate an appropriate response.

Water4All projects database and booklets

The Water4All project database and booklet include project data and consortium data. Your personal data will only be publicly available/visible if you have previously agreed to this. It may also be used for updates of the database or for impact assessment studies/quality surveys.

Data for surveys

Water4All uses from time to time external survey software. Personal data collected for the sole purpose surveys and will be deleted at the end of the surveys.

Data for presentations at workshops / events organised by Water4All

If you accept to give a presentation at an event organised by Water4All, your initial consent will be collected and shared with the Water4All partners in charge of the organisation, management and communication of the event. You are responsible for the personal data mentioned in your presentation. We may upload your presentation on our website if we have your consent.
 
You will be informed prior to the event by the organisers of the status of the meeting (internal to Water4All members, public) and if any online broadcast is foreseen to allow additional participation to external audiences.
 
If live streaming is used to webcast some presentations to Water4All partners and the general public, the webcast will consist of slides and audio only. The organisers of the event will request your consent to live streaming of your presentation and the following exchanges.
 
During such events, pictures will be taken to promote and communicate the Water4All activities. These pictures may be published on social media (Twitter, LinkedIn) or on our website.  
 
When registering to the event online, a message will inform you that you implicitly accept the use of your name and/or image in the context of any report, presentation or another form of communication and dissemination in connection with the meeting. If you do not wish to allow us the use of your name and/or image, please inform the event organisers prior to the event. The event organisers will inform the communication team of your wishes.

Data processing on the Water4All website

Data are collected and exchanged during each visit to the website. The Water4All website automatically collects and stores data transmitted from your browser to our server. This includes:

  • the page visited
  • time of the server inquiry
  • client IP address

We analyse data solely for statistical purposes in order to measure the demand for web content. It is not possible to trace this data back to a specific individual. This data is not merged with other data sources. Data collected from visits to the Water4All website is transmitted to third parties only when required by law or court order or in cases when attacks on the infrastructure of Water4All make it necessary to forward such data for the purposes of legal action or criminal prosecution. Data will not be transferred for any other reason.

Duration of the storage of personal data

The Water4All will store the personal data for the necessary time for each specific use.

Whom we share data with

We may disclose your personal information to any Water4All member, observer or associated partners under the control and direction of ANR.  
 
As stated above, with your consent or where we have a legitimate Water4All operational interest, we may also use your data, or permit selected third parties to use your data to provide you with information about services which may be of interest to you, and they or we may contact you about these. We reserve the right to access and disclose personal data in compliance with Data Protection Legislation.
 
We may use a third-party service provider to send out our newsletter and administer our mailing list, to help us run the website or services available on the website. Any third parties who access your data in the course of providing services on our behalf are subject to strict contractual restrictions to ensure that your data is protected, in compliance with Data Protection Legislation.

How we store your personal data

All information you provide us with is stored on our secure servers located in the European Union. Where we have given you (or where you have chosen) a password which allows you to access certain parts of our Website, you are responsible for keeping this password confidential. We ask you not to share a password with anyone.

What rights do you have?

As a data subject, you have the following rights:

  • the right of access to personal data relating to you;
  • the right to update your personal data or correct any mistakes in your personal data;
  • the right to ask us to stop contacting you;
  • rights in relation to automated decision taking;
  • the right to restrict or prevent your personal data being processed;
  • the right to have your personal data ported to another data controller;
  • the right to erasure; and
  • the right to complain to the Data Protection Controller if you believe we have not handled your personal data in accordance with the Legislation.

Changes to the policy

This Policy may be updated or changed from time to time at Water4All's sole discretion. The date of the most recent revisions will appear on this page. If you do not agree to these changes, please do not continue to use this Website to submit personal information. If material changes are made to the Policy, we will notify you by placing a prominent notice on the website or sending you a notification in relation to this. We will not process your personal data in a manner not contemplated by this Policy without your consent.

The Water4All Partnership - Water Security for the Planet - is a funding programme for scientific research in freshwater. It aims to tackle water challenges to face climate change, help to achieve the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals and boost the EU’s competitiveness and growth.

It is co-funded by the European Union within the frame of the Horizon Europe programme (a key funding programme for research and innovation). The Partnership duration is for seven years from 2022.

The Water4All objective is to enable water security at a large scale and in the long term. Its goal is also to tackle water issues in a holistic frame. 

All forms of life on earth need water. All human activities operate with this resource. Water is part of our everyday life. It is also integrated within urban and countryside landscapes. It is one of the most valuable elements we share with plants and animals.

These simple facts must be kept in mind to understand the Water4All ambition.

This resource is weakened in many places due to climate changes, and human habits. We know that we can improve the way we use water. Everyone has a role to play and especially the scientific research community.

Scientific research is the heart of the Partnership as It is a powerful tool to improve knowledge on preserving, restoring, and managing this essential resource. 

International cooperation is also needed as water has no borders on Earth and runs from one country to another.

Water4All brings together a broad and cohesive group of 90 partners from 33 countries in the European Union and beyond. This consortium gathers partners from the whole water Research, Development and Innovation (RDI) chain.
