During the Water Europe 'Water Innovation Europe 2024' flagship event, the inaugural Water-Oriented Living Labs (WOLLs) Network Event was held on June 19th.
This event marked a landmark moment for the Water4All Partnership, as over 20 WOLL representatives came together to establish the first-of-its-kind WOLLs Network. This network is a critical step in advancing Water4All's mission to ensure long-term water security through systemic transformations in research and innovation.
The event provided a platform for each WOLL representative to outline their unique focus areas and activities while sharing their aspirations for the newly formed Network. It marked the beginning of a dynamic ecosystem where the diversity and synergies among WOLLs could be explored and leveraged for greater collective impact. The event in Brussels also demonstrated the collective commitment of Water4All's stakeholders to advancing sustainable water management practices.
The WOLLs Network aims to foster collaboration, knowledge sharing, and regulatory learning among its members. It is envisioned as a cornerstone of Water4All's broader goals, which include supporting the achievement of the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals and the EU Green Deal. The added value of this Network will be realised through ongoing coordination meetings, collaborative projects, and the continuous exchange of best practices, all aimed at tackling the pressing water-related challenges of our time. By catalysing cross-sectoral partnerships and scaling up innovation efforts, the WOLLs Network is set to play a pivotal role in driving the transition to a Water-Smart Society.
