Water4All joined the kick-off meeting of the Future Food Systems Partnership that took place on the 19th June in Dijon (France).
Water4All was invited to join the roundtable with representatives from other EU initiatives/ projects such as CleverFood, the Agroecology Partnership and the ERA-Health Partnership.
Discussions revealed the need for synergies across initiatives as food systems are integral to many of them. As for Water4All, clear synergies were identified regarding circular economy, water pollution and water availability for the production of safe food systems.
Participants in the roundtable also emphasized the need to collaborate in the set-up and networking of living labs, as real environments in which innovative solutions can be tested in collaboration with stakeholders. Furthermore, living labs offer the possibility to interact with local and regional actors, which has traditionally been a hurdle in the implementation of research-driven solutions. The end of the roundtable was devoted to data management issues. Once again, exchanges between participants unveiled the necessity to generate interoperable data spaces in which data stemming from different sources become available for other research activities and decision-making.
