The Guideline on "Crop Evapotranspiration of Irrigated Crops in Türkiye " produced by the General Directorate of Agricultural Research and Policies (TAGEM) of Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry (MoAF) in 2017. The TAGEM-SuET (Irrigation Management and Crop Evapotranspiration System) which is an irrigation management system as a decision support tool has been developed based on the guideline information between 2020-2021. TAGEM-SuET that covers the entire territory of Türkiye is active since 2021. The system provides practical and effective solutions on irrigation management for academicians, researchers, project and field engineers and farmers. As a continuously evolving and updatable calculation and decision support tool, TAGEM-SuET contributes significantly to agricultural water and drought management in Türkiye by supporting the improvement of irrigation efficiency year by year. With the system, effective irrigation management is ensured as water is applied at the right time, in the right amount, in the amount needed and according to different irrigation methods. In addition, in order to make this system, which addresses all water users, easier and more usable for farmers, it has been included in the Ministry's mobile application service system as a mobile application. (TARIM CEBİMDE - https://tarimcebimde.tarimorman.gov.tr/).
The accurate irrigation scheduling not only increases yields, but also increases farmer profitability and contributes to agricultural production by reducing large input costs such as water fees and labor costs. The system also contributes to raising awareness on the sustainable use of water for decision makers and other users. In addition, the creation, development and use of the system contributes to strengthening the cooperation between different stakeholders on the subject.
